Sandra's dreams died on the beaches of Normandy, so long ago that most people have forgotten she ever had them. But she never forgot...she could never forget Pete. Carrying her memories with her in an old candy box, she begins the journey for which she waited a lifetime. It's been 'so long ago and far away', but it seems like yesterday in her heart.

A Congo Christmas

At Christmas 1968, I was a bride of six months, living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with my missionary pilot husband. "I'll Be Home for Christmas" wasn't going to happen, but Christmas was coming all the same. We had to make our own special day--including the tree itself!

Read about our homemade Christmas--and what I learned from another Christmas some thirty years later in this new anthology available now from Dancing with Bear Publishing.
